Don’t worry you don’t need to be an English Professor to apply for this role, what we do need is someone highly organised as you’ll also be backing up members of the Senior Team.

The main parts of your role will be customer service, answering phones and emails, process invoices, general office duties, record keeping and assisting with audit/compliance documentation. 

Because you are handling some sensitive information, we need you to have an eye for detail and a mature attitude, this doesn’t mean you have to be mature in years.

The team here are all extremely welcoming and love to have a chat and get together socially, plenty of banter in this office. Ideally, we would love someone that has had some customer service experience and knows how to communicate with a wide range of stake holders and diverse groups.

This is a great opportunity to it get in on the ground level of a company in one of the busiest industries in Australia. A mature attitude and a positive outlook to learn new skills is what we are looking for.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday whilst studying a Cert III in Business, for the right candidate this could be upgraded to Cert IV in Business.

You'll need to be eager to learn and show initiative, have excellent communication skills and not be afraid to share your ideas. This is a junior role, junior wages apply.

 

The Role

This position is available for a start in January 2024 (earlier start may be negotiable). As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter you will support the Reliability department deliver plant performance and efficiency through maintenance and continuous improvement of machinery and equipment whilst studying theoretical components of the apprenticeship.

The successful applicant will report to the Reliability Area Manager (Mechanical) and will be required to perform maintenance tasks across the entire site, as well as within designated workshops.

Perform day to day tasks as required, including:

  • Learning and assisting in the fault finding, problem solving, repair, maintenance and overhaul of plant equipment.
  • Developing mechanical skills such as basic welding, lubrication, machining, and equipment rebuild using a variety of factory/maintenance shop and specialty tools.
  • Maintaining production equipment through application of preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Conducting non-routine and routine maintenance activities, including all relevant and compliance documentation.
  • Diagnosing equipment problems and taking corrective action to achieve optimum safety and efficiency.
  • Contribute to team effectiveness through participation and cooperation

 

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Sound computer literacy and mathematical competence
  • Basic skills in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools
  • Natural mechanical aptitude and interests
  • Safety consciousness and ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of WHS procedures

Completion of high school certificate or equivalent is preferred but not essential.

Squad in conjunction with our host who specialise in roof Plumbing and Cladding are seeking a well-presented candidate to join their team as a Apprentice Roof Plumber

This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience and training from qualified professionals and undertake study to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

The Role

This role comes with a lot of variety and the chance to get some highly sought-after experience. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Work safely at heights
  • Carry out interactive workplace communication
  • Read plans and calculate plumbing quantities
  • Work effectively in the plumbing and services sector
  • Carry out WHS requirements
  • Use plumbing hand and power tools
  • Work safely on roofs
  • Fascia gutter Architectural cladding              

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have the following;

  • Good Customer
  • Service Skills
  • Enthusiastic,
  • hardworking and reliable
  • Current driver's Licence and own vehicle
  • Good work ethic
  • Ability to work unsupervised

This is an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a qualification in Certificate III Plumbing.

You will be allocated time on the job to focus on your studies, and access to the support of a Squad Mentor who will visit you on site on a regular basis throughout your apprenticeship.

Working hours include Monday - Friday - 7am - 3.10pm
